CWEEL Jordan Energy Talks Webinar Series and Other Activities

CWEEL Jordan launched the Energy Talks webinar series on March 8th, 2022, celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) 2022. Ms. Suhair AL Mhairat CEM®, REP™, CSDP, CWEEL Jordan liaison officer, was the moderator for the webinars. So far, three distinguished female speakers from Jordan and Lebanon have participated in webinars to share their practical knowledge and experience in the energy, decarbonization, and PV sectors. All sessions were followed by highly interactive Q&A sessions attended by 70 participants worldwide who showed their interest and passion for the topics of the sessions. Proud of our speakers who participated in the following topics:

“Introduction to Measurement and Verification” was done by Jordanian senior Engineer, Nermeen Asfour CEM®, BEP, CMVP®. She holds a BSc in Engineering and an MBA in Marketing and has a total professional experience of 13 years, all in the energy services field. In addition, she is also one of the first Arab Speaking instructors licensed to instruct the CMVP prep courses. She shared her technical experience in M&V knowledge, essential standards and protocol, International Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP), and M&V concepts.

Raising the Bar to Zero Carbon Building” was done by Lebanese Sustainability Specialist Eng. Ghina Annan CEM®. She is a mechanical engineer with more than 11 years of experience developing high-performance building designs. Ghina actively advocates for sustainability by playing a vital role in developing and delivering projects, standards, guidelines, and national strategies. Currently, she is a member of ASHRAE’s Task Force for Building Decarbonization (TFBD). She shared her experience in prioritizing Carbon Emission reduction through efficient design & grid citizenship, the importance of whole life carbon zero, ISO and EN whole life carbon framework, the distinction between embodied carbon and operational carbon, and incentivizing the reductions in embodied and operational carbon.

“Smart Solutions in PV Industry” by Jordanian Senior Engineer Azzah Alkhalailah CEM®. She is a holder of a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy with more than 12 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining RE projects. In addition to project development and consultation at the local and international levels. She is an authorized trainer by Jordan Engineers Association.
She shared her experience in smart PV power plant monitoring and data-driven O&M, future best practices, and the relevant management system.
