On March 24th, CWEEL New England advisory group member Kiersten Washle walked participants through the merits of visuals in communication, focusing in part on the perspective of how they’re beneficial for women in our industry. Attendees learned the importance of visual communication when condensing and sharing technical information, as a means to stand out and make your voice heard in emails, newsletters, event promotion, and in building your personal professional brand. Kiersten explored the elements that make a strong visual design, and followed with a demo of some free web tools for creating powerful graphics. Kiersten assigned some “homework” where she encouraged attendees to make their own graphics with one of the tools they’d just learned about. Another CWEEL member, Nathalie Osborn did just that- check out her work below!
