CWEEL Announces New Board Members
Elin Shepard, Chair of Scholarships, Awards, and Student Enrichment Committee
Elin has more than 11 years of experience engaging customers in utility programs. She provides targeted outreach and education for CLEAResult including presentations to design & development professionals, key community stakeholders and organizations. She works on diverse projects within the government and education sectors to influence design. Through continual engagement with owners and project teams, she recognizes potential for high performance buildings and guides them through the path to net zero
Hadas Webb, US CWEEL Membership Commitee Chair
Hadas Webb has over 20 years of experience in engineering, energy analysis, and leadership. Ms. Webb previously has been with Cimetrics since 2007 and was head of the Analytics team, where she focused on stakeholder engagement, process improvement, innovation, and team leadership. Formerly, as a Senior Analyst, Ms. Webb was directly responsible for energy analysis of over 8 million square feet of facilities throughout the United States. Prior to joining Cimetrics, Ms. Webb worked as a Building Automation Construction Manager at Partners Healthcare, where she was responsible for managing control system projects and developing a building automation master plan for Massachusetts General Hospital. Ms. Webb regularly delivers presentations on the topic of energy analytics, including recent presentations at the AEE 2021 EETS conference on monitoring-based commissioning for new construction and a chapter presentation for AEE New England on best practices for building analytics. Ms. Webb launched the New England CWEEL group in Spring 2021 and serves as the AEE New England CWEEL officer. Ms. Webb received a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.S. from Carnegie Mellon University, both in Mechanical Engineering, and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
Nicolette Sowa, Mentoring Program Chair
Nicolette Sowa joined AEE and CWEEL in 2019 as a Chapter Liaison for the Columbia River Chapter and, shortly after, joined the CWEEL Mentor Program, as well. She’s had a phenomenal experience as both a mentor and a mentee in the program. Nicolette is passionate about supporting women+ in the energy industry and will work to expand the membership and structure of the CWEEL Mentor Program as a Governing Council Board Member.
Nicolette currently works on the Energy Markets team at Enersponse, focused on decarbonizing energy for its customers. She previously held various community-focused leadership roles in Healthcare IT before obtaining a Master of Environmental Law & Policy with an Energy Law Certificate, then joining Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) as a Demand Response Program Manager. At PG&E, Nicolette was also a mentee in the company’s formal mentorship program and a Board Director for the W-STEM ENG, which included participation in monthly mentoring sessions for teenage girls in the community.
