This one-hour panel presentation will explore inspirational examples of women who have advanced Building Performance Standards across the U.S. The panel will share their first-hand experiences of how they achieved success and effected change in their respective jurisdictions. They will present their key challenges and how they overcame them to create a lasting impact in this fast-changing industry.

About the Panel:
Dr. Sharon Jaye
 is the Building Performance Policy Manager for Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency, leading the team implementing energy efficiency mandates for buildings over 5,000 sq. ft. With over 20 years of experience in sustainable operations for educational institutions, she holds multiple degrees and authored IFMA sustainability guides on carbon foot printing and waste management.

Lana Crouse is a Regional Director at the U.S. Green Building Council, overseeing market development and community operations across the East North Central U.S. She brings 25+ years of nonprofit leadership and holds credentials from Indiana University and Georgetown University.

Alexa Stone is the Founder and President of ecoPreserve, a consultancy specializing in sustainability engineering and transportation. With over 25 years of experience, she leads impactful projects in energy management and carbon reduction across more than 75 million sq. ft. of space.

Marla Thalheimer is a sustainability expert with two decades of experience in ESG programs for commercial real estate. At IMT, she leads business engagement initiatives and holds credentials including LEED AP ID+C and a master’s from Harvard.

Laurie Wiegand-Jackson is the founder of Utility Advantage and a 40-year veteran of the energy industry, with leadership roles in multiple energy firms. She is a certified Energy Procurement Professional, founder of CWEEL, and serves on the AEE Executive Leadership Team.
