CWEEL’s Career Development Committee Chair Kiersten Washle will walk participants through the merits of visuals in communication, focusing in part on the perspective of how they’re beneficial for professionals in our industry.

Learn the importance of visual communication to condense and share technical information to stand out and make your voice heard in emails, newsletters, event promotion, and when building your personal professional brand. Kiersten will explore the elements that make a strong visual design, and follow with a demo of some free web tools for creating powerful graphics.

Author Bio:

In all things, Kiersten’s goal is to bring the built environment into greater harmony with our natural one. Kiersten is based in Virginia and works in the Sustainable Operations team at JLL where she develops sustainability solutions for Enterprise accounts. Prior to that, Kiersten worked with the CMTA where she conducted analysis to understand the effects of building design decisions on KPIs such as energy use intensity and carbon footprint. Her work contributed to the construction of 5 net zero energy buildings in New England, including the first net zero school in the state of Connecticut. She has completed multiple sustainability and decarbonization master plans for universities and towns totaling more than 2.5 million square feet.

Kiersten holds a BS in Systems Engineering and Sustainability as well as an MS in Engineering Management, both from George Washington University. Additionally, she has an MBA from the Quantic School of Business. She holds a C.E.M. accreditation, Living Futures Accreditation, is a LEED Green Associate, and is an ActiveScore AP.
